5th Global Youth Entrepreneurs Forum 2018

Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) are at the fingertips of Hong Kong youth. This is why next week's forum will bring breaking news on the latest GBA developments, innovation and technology, and top tips for new business.

The GBA is being shaped as a competitive city cluster to rival New York, San Francisco and Tokyo and at this annual event organized by HKFYG young people can sharpen their skills and expand their networks at discussions that will include AI, fintech, wise investment and the smart city.

Prejudice and ignorance in the workforce: survey finds disturbing attitudes to youth with SEN and other disabilities despite higher education
Respondents 520 aged 18+
Main findings
Lack of employment support, negative employer attitudes and poor understanding among colleagues and the general public are the barriers facing youth with SEN or disabilities in the workplace.
26.0% unwilling to work with SEN youth
* 27.4% think they could be "dangerous or harmful"
* 43.7% say they don't know how to work with SEN youth
* 60.7% believe working with SEN youth would increase their workload
Recommendations
* Improvement of employment services
* Subsidies for continuous education
* More jobs for people with disabilities in government departments

Carol singing festival organized by Child Development Initiative Alliance and supported by HKFYG EasyVolunteer
At Major shopping malls, theme parks, special public transport, local landmarks & MTR stations
With Over 10,000 members of the public joining hands and singing carols in every corner of the territory to raise awareness and funds for underprivileged children. Volunteers also needed to coordinate and liaise with choir teams, assist at ceremonies and performances.
