2021 new year resolution - do sports and stay healthy!
Everyone wishes for a health body and mind in 2021. Participating in sports surely can help one develop both, and this is especially true for young people.
Funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Federation has launched a three-year programme - the HKFYG Jockey Club Youth Sports Development Project. A sequel to the previous Community Team Sports Project, it aims to further help young people aged 6-25 to enjoy sports and build up self-identity.
The Project consists of four parts. Participants of the Youth Team Sports Training Scheme can take part in five selected sports, including ice hockey, lacrosse, basketball, running and dodgeball. They can then gain practical experience in the Youth Team Sports Leagues, harnessing their techniques through exciting competitions. The Project will also enlighten the youth's aspirations in the sports industry through the Sports Industry Management Training Scheme, in which they can learn to be coaches, referees and event assistants. In addition, the general public can take part as sports volunteers in three iconic activities Running for Happiness, Go Plogging and Canoe Sweeping which merge sports with social service and environmental protection, or convert their sweat into free sports classes for the deprived groups under the Sports Mileage Scheme.
Join us and cultivate good habits in 2021 together!
