Wellness New Year

Even after a year, the pandemic continues to sweep across the world. It is no wonder that nearly everyone is now experiencing "anti-epidemic fatigue" resulting in, for many people, emotional, physical and mental distress. To help alleviate these symptoms, the Federation encourages people to join in its "Virtual Run for Wellness 2021" as a means to relieve stress through running.

Supported by HSBC, "Run for Wellness" is the public event of an HKFYG programme. Called "Project Step - Emotional Wellness for Young People," this is a preventive and remedial multifaceted programme that aims to nurture positive self-esteem and a caring spirit among young people. To encourage the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle by running, as well as to raise public awareness about young people's emotional well-being, "Run for Wellness" participants will be required to carry a backpack with a book inside, which symbolizes the sharing of young people's burdens.

Because of the unique environment we find ourselves in, this year's "Run for Wellness" will be organized virtually. From 1 to 14 April 2021, with the theme, "Running around the World", participants can map out their own routes, distances and locations. All proceeds will go towards providing financial assistance for needy young people to receive timely psychiatric services.

Run with us to support young people in need and inject wellness in the Year of the Ox!
