Running for Fun to Support Others

Could you run 124 km in 21 hours? Some of us have used the pandemic as an excuse, or a lack of motivation to exercise. Others, have used it as the perfect reason to push themselves to the limit to prove there is never an excuse to stop exercising. A group of 12 young running enthusiasts will attempt to run the 124 km course in the given time, while also raising money for charity.

The Federation has coopted the help of the 12 running enthusiasts, aged between 18 and 25, to raise funds for its youth sports development programmes so that all young people, especially the disadvantaged, will be encouraged to participate in all and any level of sports and physical activity.

These 12 runners will complete what is being called Run 21, where they will run in teams to all 21 of the Federation's Youth S.P.O.Ts and do so in a period of 21 hours on 4 December 2021.  The runners have been training since August under the guidance of renowned and award winning runner, Mr. Wong Ho-chung. Mr Wong has been providing the runners with professional advice in how to keep fit, as he puts them through their paces in intensive training. The 124 km run will kick-off at the Jockey Club Kwai Fong Youth S.P.O.T., followed by stops at other Youth S.P.O.Ts in Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai, Fanling, Sha Tin, Lok Fu, Hung Hom and Island East. The LOHAS Youth S.P.O.T. will be the final stop and end of the challenge.

Focus on physical activity is not new for the Federation, as it offers a variety of sports programmes to train young people, which also builds up values, nurtures talents and develops a commitment to service. Help us continue this practice. Please give generously and support the runners to complete this challenge. All of us can help this worthy cause, even if we are the ones who don't actually exert ourselves!
