Inspiration from Living ‧ Innovation from Science

Once again, The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition is challenging young people to find practical solutions to actual problems that are confronting not only their futures, but their current situations as well.

The theme of this year's Competition is "Inspiration from Living ‧ Innovation from Science", and focuses on sustainable development. It aims at encouraging young people to become interested in science and technology, while developing their creativity and scientific mindset, and inspiring their intellectual and career pathways.

This well received - and eagerly anticipated annual Competition - is jointly organised by the Federation, The Education Bureau and The Hong Kong Science Museum, and supported by The Innovation and Technology Commission, The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, The Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences, the Hong Kong Design Institute and IVE (Lee Wai Lee).

To prepare participants for the Competition, a series of science and innovation related training workshops and seminars were provided, including research and literature reviews, data analysis and design thinking and more. The Initial Judging cum Project Exhibition and the Final Judging cum Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held on 22 April and 23 April respectively at the Hong Kong Design Institute and IVE (Lee Wai Lee).

Winning teams of Junior and Senior Division may have the opportunity to be sponsored to participate in an overseas Science and Technology Exchange Programme. Book coupons will also be given to winning teams of all divisions to motivate them further.

Get ready to be amazed by some great innovations! You can watch the Final Judging and Awards Presentation Ceremony online at www.facebook.com/hkfygccst. Please support our future scientists and innovators on the judging weekend!
