Promoting Equality through Sports

One of the most positive aspects of sports, apart from team work, the thrill of competition while learning how to win and lose with grace, is the how it impacts health and wellbeing. We believe that sports should be for everyone; but sadly, some young people lack opportunities to challenging circumstances.

For the second year, the V.Cares Youth Volleyball Program, organised by the HKFYG Community Team Sports Office and supported by Mitsubishi Electric (Hong Kong) Limited, this exciting program focuses on female volleyball enthusiasts aged 13 to 17, especially for those from grassroots families, those with special educational needs or those from ethnic minority backgrounds. The purpose is to provide free training and skills development over a six-month period, thus enhancing their self-confidence and teamwork.

This year, selected participants will be divided into four teams according to districts, where after being trained, they will join the V. League camp and tournament. Twelve alumni from last year's program will serve coaches' assistants, sharing their passion and experience with the participants. In addition to developing their sporting prowess, they will also volunteer in various community projects, further highlighting the importance of teamwork sportsmanship and community involvement.

Let's get everyone involved as we empower more young girls through sports!
