Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future

We are all aware of the importance of sustainable development. But awareness without action will not make any difference. Therefore, the Federation, in partnership with Watsons Water is hoping to make an impact through its green educational initiative.

Focusing on the importance of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), the 3Rs Green Alliance Program is designed to encourage students to embrace sustainable practices within their school environments and actively contribute to the creation of a better city. The Program adopts the Federation’s philosophy in promoting sustainable development: "Sustainability Foundation", "Sustainability in Action", and "Sustainability Leadership".

In the initial phase of the Program, the installation of smart water dispensers in schools takes centre stage, motivating students and teachers to bring their own water bottles and reduce waste at its source. The water dispensers' display screens provide real-time updates on carbon emissions associated with their usage, enabling individuals to make informed choices.

Participating schools will also have access to a diverse range of environmental education activities, including initiatives focused on ecological conservation, seashore waste cleaning, recycling workshops, and informative lectures. These activities aim to strengthen foundation knowledge, heighten awareness, and provide hands-on experiences in tackling such challenges.

By fostering a culture of sustainability through the 3Rs Green Alliance Program, let’s strive to empower young individuals to become agents of positive environmental changes.
