Celebrating the Overcoming of Challenges

There are those among us whose journeys have been paved with challenges, where every step forward seems a battle won. Yet, in their eyes, we see a determination that transcends the trials they face. These are the young champions who inspire us to create a world of boundless opportunities.

The Federation and CLP Power Hong Kong have a long-standing partnership in celebrating the resilience of young people in overcoming challenges. So now, in its 6th year, the "CLP Energy for Brighter Tomorrows Award", once again serves to encourage young individuals aged between 12 and 18 who have bravely overcome various life challenges, including family crises, illnesses, life adjustments, and emotional distress. Each winner will be awarded a scholarship of HK$10,000 and be able to join a one-year mentorship programme with CLP engineers.

The theme for this year, Dance of Light and Water, Inspiring the Limitless, symbolises the grace and resilience that the awardees have exhibited in navigating adverse circumstances with flexibility and determination to find success. These inspiring stories push everyone to embrace their own limitless potential to move forward positively.

One awardees, Khan Bibi Aisha Lachica, is a Hong Kong-born Filipino Pakistani. In spite of being fluent in Cantonese, Aisha has faced discrimination, especially in school where she could not fit in nor find friends.

So she focused on her studies and became determined to alter people's perceptions of her and other ethnic minorities. By actively participating in community activities, she strove to promote racial integration. Aisha's determination to excel academically and her commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding serves as a testament to her resilience in the face of adversity.

Let us pledge to be the guiding light that illuminates the path for our youth. Your support can make all the difference. Join us!
