LiveWELL for a Healthier Future

In today's fast-paced and ever-changing world, the well-being of youth has become more important than ever. As young individuals navigate the challenges of growing up, especially, in a digital age, maintaining their physical, mental, and emotional health becomes crucial for their overall development and success. But where do they turn for support if they need it?

The HKFYG Wellness PLUS Complex has been recently established by the Federation to focus entirely on young people. This first-of-a-kind venue focuses on three areas of support: the psycho-social; nutrition; and physical support through sports.

Aiming to empower over 15,000 young individuals to adopting healthier lifestyles, professional training and internships will be offered. The Complex will also nurture "Youth Public Health Practitioners" to contribute to a healthier community through "social prescribing", which is a modern health management solution, connecting people in the community.

With sponsorship from the DBS Foundation, the Complex has initiated the LiveWELL Programme, a three-year project dedicated to promoting balanced dietary and exercise habits to children and youth from low-income families. This initiative is designed to enhance holistic health in adolescents and bolster their resilience. Recognised internationally, the project has already received the prestigious "Award for the Best International Social Prescribing Project" at the 2024 Social Prescribing Awards in London.

This is a fight that we can win together and we encourage everyone to be a part of health and wellness in Hong Kong, transforming ourselves and others, especially young people.

HKFYG Embraces Sustainability at Hong Kong Book Fair
For the Hong Kong Book Fair, the Federation prioritised environmental sustainability. Instead of single-use cabinets, we used reusable bookshelves and display racks, later redistributing them to other Federation units. Foamboard printing was reduced in favour of previous promotional materials. Staff and volunteers were encouraged to bring their own water bottles, with recyclable cups provided. Customers were required to bring shopping bags, promoting eco-friendly habits. These efforts demonstrate HKFYG's commitment to integrating sustainability into its operations.
