Turning Small Actions into Big Changes

Volunteering spreads kindness, showing that small actions can lead to big changes. Each good deed inspires others, creating a wave of compassion.

The Federation has launched the “Easy Good Deeds” Campaign, an initiative designed to inspire young people to incorporate small acts of kindness into their daily lives, creating significant positive impacts within their communities through simple and meaningful volunteer activities. Participants can complete ten easily achievable good deeds, such as giving priority to people in need, offering help to neighbours, supporting local charities, with the added incentive of redeeming rewards upon completion. The initiative seeks to promote through its focus on the 3Cs: to Care, to Contribute, and to foster a Culture of kindness in everyday life.

The Campaign is based on a recent survey titled “Good Deeds: Encouraging Young People to Volunteer” conducted by the Federation’s Youth Research Centre. This study engaged 1,082 local young people aged between 15 and 34, highlights on the motivations and challenges encountered by young volunteers in Hong Kong. While a substantial 89.1% of respondents agreed that “volunteering plays a pivotal part in personal growth” and 86.0% of respondents expressed interest in volunteer work, rating their level of interest with a mean score of 7.18 on a 0-to-10-point scale. The survey findings highlight a significant demand for flexible volunteering options, with 39.6% of respondents preferred opportunities that fit their busy schedules. This highlights the need for accessible pathways to volunteerism.

By turning small actions into significant changes, we hope to motivate young people to embrace volunteerism as a rewarding and integral part of their lives, seeking to cultivate a culture of kindness and community involvement among youth.

Join us in creating positive change in our community together!
