Financial Safety Across Generations

It is essential today to be financially literate and to be especially knowledgeable about online transactions, while also being able to recognise scams and how to prevent them affecting daily lives.

With the generous support of The Investor and Financial Education Council, the HKFYG Digital Wealthy will promote collaborative learning between unemployed youth aged 15 to 29 and seniors, focusing on online financial literacy and scam identification, equipping participants with the skills necessary to combat online fraud effectively.

Through this programme, young individuals will receive training in financial concepts, digital fraud prevention, and communication skills tailored for engaging with the elderly. Upon completion of the training, participants will serve as "Fraud Prevention Assistants" at various elderly centres, where they will educate seniors on scam awareness. Social workers will assist the youth in reflecting on their teaching experiences, which will improve their employment skills, and help them secure new job opportunities.

This unique programme, that bridges both a digital and generational divide is what we need for the future to ensure that the different age cohorts can be empowered to face the digital future with confidence and enthusiasm.
