Spike for Dreams
Volleyball is fast-paced, exciting, and engages both players and spectators in an enthralling display of skill, strategy, and teamwork that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats. This is what the HKFYG Premier Cup is all about.
The Cup brought together 320 young boys from 16 secondary schools to give them the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, while also creating a sense of belonging and community through teamwork and personal growth.
This year's tournament focused on "Resilience", aiming to enhance students' mental and physical strength as they face life's challenges with confidence. The top top-tier competition also enabled the young participants to highlight their athletic prowess and perhaps even think about future athletic dreams.
The finals were held on 17 August at the Christian Alliance International School of Hong Kong where Diocesan Boys' School were crowned this year's champion against a feisty Shun Tak Fraternal Association Cheng Yu Tung Secondary School.
In addition to the tournament, the Federation's Community Team Sports Office are excited to offer interactive sporting seminars in schools throughout Hong Kong. These sessions will feature insights from athletes, university professors, and social workers, sharing valuable tips on how sports can be used for engagement and stress relief.
Even if volleyball is not your chosen game, do support young people, boys and girls, to be more active physically as they build resilience for the betterment of their emotional and mental wellbeing.
