A New Base in the GBA
Where can Hong Kong youth step out of the city and into their future?
The Federation’s Zhongshan Sanxiang Youth Training Centre has officially reopened, marking a fresh chapter in our work with and for young people across the Greater Bay Area. This revitalised hub, aligned with the National 15th Five-Year Plan, is more than a building; it is a launchpad for the next generation of leaders.
Repositioned as a dedicated space for Hong Kong youth to learn, grow and connect, the Centre focuses on:
- National Education: deepening understanding, identity and a sense of belonging
- Green Development: inspiring sustainable, rural lifestyles in support of “Dual Carbon” goals
- Quality Living: enriching lives through reading, volunteerism and wellbeing
Set in the historic Yongmo Village, the Centre stands as a living bridge between heritage and progress. With 42 modern dormitory spaces and flexible multi-purpose rooms, it offers an ideal base for leadership retreats, exchange programmes and cross-cultural dialogue. Beyond classrooms, participants can immerse themselves in the region’s rich history, experience intangible cultural heritage and see rural revitalisation first-hand at he nearby Konghou Culture Museum.
As we move forward, we remain committed to opening more gateways for Hong Kong youth to explore the vast potential of the GBA. Come visit us at this inspiring space, where heritage meets the future of youth development!

Response to Audit Report
The Federation never shies away from challenges, and right now we're addressing Audit Report on our Youth Hostel Scheme.
I want to assure you, our partners, that the foundation we've built over 65 years, serving thousands of young people through trusted programmes, remains steadfast.
The Report offers clear insight for improvement. We've taken this seriously as a genuine opportunity to strengthen our stewardship of public resources, as reflected in our responses:

We hope you'll continue supporting and trusting us in our shared commitment to Hong Kong's young people.

Youth I.D.E.A.S. think tank latest report No. 86 on “Supporting the Development of Local Creative IPs”
Key findings
● Respondents rated the significance of Cultural and Creative IP to Hong Kong’s economic growth at an average of 6.5 out of 10
● 80.9% of the respondents have bought creative products, with 70.4% choosing homegrown creative IPs
● Only 42.3% of the respondents believe Hong Kong has the talent required for developing local cultural and creative IP, while 37.6% of them remained neutral. This reflects a general lack of strong confidence among youth in the local talent available to support such development
● Over 80% of the respondents also believe local creative IPs help strengthen the city's soft power and civic pride
Major recommendations
● Establish a matching platform to connect creators interested in local cultural and creative IP with the professional services they require. Providing intermediary services to offer business planning and corporate matchmaking for high-potential local IPs
● Launch a “Hong Kong Cultural & Creative IP Brand Certification” through the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) to establish a comprehensive and authoritative registry of local IPs
● Encourage mall operators to offer preferential rental rates for local creators to establish "Hong Kong Creative IP Galleries" and serve as retail outlets for local IP products and host regular promotional events
Onsite survey period January to February 2026
Survey respondents 550 young people aged 18 to 34
