Sharing Love – in support of the ‘Fly High with Us’ Young Savers Project

Since 2009, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, with the support of the government’s Child Development Fund (CDF) and the wider community, has been helping vulnerable and disadvantaged young people aged between 10 and 16 to save and plan for the future, easing the burdens of intergenerational poverty.

The programme encourages young people to save and then provides them matching funds giving them the opportunity to not only learn the benefits of financial planning, but also to use the money for their own personal development.

This year, with Hong Kong facing so many unprecedented challenges, we will be encouraging 115 youngsters to try to save HK$200 a month for a period of two years, which will then be matched with government and community funds handed out through the Federation. HK$4,800 is what we are encouraging each child to save and HK$9,600 is what the matching funds will be over 24 months.

As the government disburses HK$10,000 to all permanent residents over the age of 18, we ask for your help to support those who need our help. We would be so grateful if you might consider supporting the ‘Fly High with Us’ Young Savers Project by donating either in full or part of the cash payout you receive.

Over the years, we have seen the ‘Fly High with Us’ Young Savers Project opening doors to opportunities in learning and experience which would otherwise been unattainable for these young people.

Fung was able to improve his English language skills and learn how to play the piano, while Po was able to become one of the youngest funeral directors in Hong Kong after taking a professional course.

As we all face challenges together, let us also reach out to help each other. Please consider your own personal donations or corporate and organisational contributions towards the Fly High with Us’ Young Savers Project.

Sharing love, together we can make a difference.

Thank you.
