Enabling disadvantaged young people enjoy the opportunity to participate and engage in sports

In our 65 years of service provision, the HKFYG has been deeply committed to the overall wellbeing of young people, including their physical and emotional health. We believe that by playing games and getting involved in sports, young people can grow in self-confidence and resilience, learn how to work in teams and become aware of others through service. The Federation’s Sports Services go further in creating impact, by involving young people to adhere to the Sustainable Development Goals through a range of different initiatives, including:

  • Engaging young people to care for the planet by participating in eco-clean ups through hiking trips and ocean trash hunts during kayaking adventures
  • Participating in the V Cares Volleyball Training Programmes, young girls learn about team work and self-confidence, as the build up their social inclusion
  • Joining in workshops focused on career pathways in sports, including roles as coaches, judges or referees, young people are exposed to new professional careers

As they engage in sporting opportunities, deepen their knowledge and skills, we have every confidence that they will then create an impact as responsible, caring and active members of the community. Join us on this sporting journey and help us provide opportunities to make an impact!
