a cappella Musical Charity Dinner 2024

The a cappella Musical Charity Dinner took place once again on April 8, 2024, at the JW Marriott Hong Kong Hotel. The event featured an incredible lineup of guest performers from around the world, including Beat Poetry Club from Vienna, The Sons of Pitches from London, Rabbit Cat from Tokyo, and Senza A Cappella from Hong Kong.

The proceeds from the event will be used to support the Federation's efforts in enhancing employment opportunities for young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors and donors whose generosity made this event possible.

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Charity Sale 2023

With the unwavering support of Lisa's Collection, The HKFYG Charity Sale featuring Chinese antiques and fine jewelry was successfully held on October 28-29, 2023. This event provided a unique opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors alike to acquire exquisite pieces. In addition, Dr. Lisa Cheung conducted a course on Chinese antique authentication, enabling young individuals to expand their knowledge of the vast treasures of Chinese artifacts. Some students eagerly volunteered to participate in the charity sale to acquire new skills and gain hands-on experience. The proceeds from the sale now contribute to supporting the Federation in providing diverse and professional services to the youth of Hong Kong, especially those in need.

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Charity Golf Tournament 2023

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups’ third Charity Golf Tournament 2023 was successfully held on 31 August 2023. The proceeds go towards supporting disadvantaged youth with opportunities for service in GBA.

We are deeply grateful to The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club for offering all-round support for running the Tournament by managing the activity, providing venue arrangement and golf course, waiving fees for the greens, golf carts, food and beverage at the Club, “Beat-the-Pro” challenge, as well as all the sponsors for their support and generosity.

After three long years, we are thrilled to announce that the a cappella Musical Dinner has finally returned! The event took place on 22 March 2023 at the Hong Kong Country Club, featuring an incredible lineup of guest performers from around the world. This included Acapellago from the Philippines, America's Freedom's Boombox and Pipeline Vocal Project, Kaichiro Kitamura from Japan, Korean Group Narin, and Hong Kong's VSing.

The proceeds from the event will be used to support the Federation's emotional health services for vulnerable children and youth. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the sponsors and donors whose generosity made this event possible.

Hong Kong Social Service Expo 2023

The Federation was one of the exhibitors of the Hong Kong Social Service Expo, which was held on 15 February 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Our booth was centered on the theme of sustainability, showcasing the various services and products offered by our Social Enterprise Units, such as an organic farm, wellness and sports.

The Expo was a valuable opportunity for the Federation to strengthen relationships with our partners and engage with various sectors of the community, facilitating the Federation in providing diversified services to the young people in Hong Kong.

Charity Sale 2021

With Lisa's Collection and various partners' unfailing support, a charity sale of Chinese antiques and fine jewellery was held on 25-26 September 2021 for enthusiasts and collectors alike. As part of the event, Dr. Lisa Cheung taught a course on Chinese antique authentication at which young people enriched their knowledge about the vast treasure of Chinese artefacts. Some students volunteered to take part in the charity sale to acquire new skills and gain some hands-on experience. Proceeds from the sale now support the Federation to provide diversified and professional services for young people in Hong Kong, especially for those in need.

The HKFYG 60th Anniversary Presents: “Always with YOUth”
a cappella Online Charity Concert

The Concert was premiered on 21 September 2020 and broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. It was open to the public and was for free, spreading our care and support for the community during the pandemic. Performers included MayTree from Korea, Ommm from France, CoffeetimeBand from Russia, Acapellago from the Philippines, and Hong Kong’s very own Groundbreaker.

Our heartfelt thanks go to The Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation, the Great Eagle Group, the MTR Corporation, Swire Properties, Dr. Allen Fung and Sindy Fung, the Legan Foundation, and other generous donors. All proceeds will go to helping the Federation provide young people with all-round development opportunities.

"Best .hk" Website Awards - Silver Award for eGiving

Giving is always better than receiving and it with a grateful heart that the Federation was pleased to accept recognition for its online donation platform eGiving (giving.hkfyg.org.hk). Organised by The Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited, the Federation received the Silver prize under the Non-Commercial Corporate Stream of the "Best .hk" Website Awards 2019. The Federation received the accolade at the Presentation Ceremony held on 22 July 2019.

eGiving offers a range of diversified fundraising projects and convenient donation methods of payments, providing the opportunity for members of the public to support specific youth services in which they are interested, irrespective of time and place. This efficient and effective method works towards one shared goal: supporting and caring for the youth of Hong Kong.

Caring Company Partnership Expo 2019

The Federation was once again an exhibitor of the Caring Company Partnership Expo, which was held on 20 May 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Theme of our booth is mental health, as highlighted by a “Wellness Tree” and distribution of “The HKFYG Wellness Mints”. These were well-received by our partners and general visitors.

The Expo provides a precious opportunity to foster closer ties between the Federation and our partners, and to interact with different sectors of the community, facilitating the Federation in providing diversified services to the young people in Hong Kong.

a cappella Musical Dinner 2019

An a cappella Musical Dinner was held on 25 March at the Hong Kong Country Club. Guest performers were Italy’s Cluster, Upper Structure from Berklee College in the United States, Taiwan’s VOX Vocal Band and Hong Kong’s HKFYG’s Passingers@ HKMM (Hong Kong Melody Makers) and Ukiyo from St Paul’s Co-educational College. A Charity Sale of Rose Tea Gift Packs also took place during the dinner and the response from the guests was overwhelming.

The proceeds go towards supporting the Federation’s music education programme for underprivileged children and youth in Hong Kong..

Charity Gala Film Premiere: House of the Rising Sons

The HKFYG was invited by Sil-Metropole Organisation Limited to be the Charity Partner of the gala film premiere of “House of the Rising Sons”, which took place on 9 July 2018 at The Metroplex, Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. Two of the theatres were for charitable purpose. More than 200 guests attended and enjoyed the film together. Proceeds go to provide mentoring support for young people and assist them to pursue their personal development goals.

Charity Auction and Sale 2018

With Lisa’s Collection and various partners’ unfailing support, a charity auction of Chinese antiques with a charity sale of fine jewellery was held on 1-3 June 2018 for both collectors and admirers . As part of the event, Dr. Lisa Cheung taught a course on Chinese antique authentication at which young people gained a deeper understanding of the vast treasure of Chinese artefacts. Some students volunteered to take part in an actual auction to acquire new skills while also becoming knowledgeable Chinese Ambassadors. Proceeds from the auction and sale now support the Federation’s hotline and online counselling services for young people in need of immediate assistance.

An a cappella Musical Dinner was held on 28 March at the Conrad Hotel. The Hon. Andrew Leung, President of the HKSAR Legislative Council was Guest of Honour. Guest performers were the multi-national group Accent, The Nor’easters from the USA, The Apex Project from Singapore, and our very own’s HKFYG Hong Kong Melody Makers. Courtesy of Lisa’s Collection, a Charity Sale of exquisite fine jewellery also took place during the dinner. Every signature piece reflected the rich traditions of Chinese history and culture to delight both connoisseurs and art lovers alike.

The proceeds support the Federation’s hotline and online counselling services for young people who require immediate assistance in their moments of need.

Charity Auction and Sale 2017

Supported by Lisa’s Collection and various other partners, a charity auction of Chinese antiques with a charity sale of fine jewellery was held on 28-30 July 2017. As part of the event, Mrs. Lisa Cheung taught a course on Chinese antique authentication at which young people learnt about the materials from which antiques are made and how to revitalize them to maximize their cultural value. Some students volunteered to help thereby gaining some hands-on work experience and the event also encouraged enthusiasts and collectors alike to share their expertise and appreciation of antiques with one another. The proceeds from the auction and sale now support the Federation’s online counselling services for socially withdrawn youth with emotional health problems.

Partnership Luncheon

The Federation held partnership luncheons on 23 February, 20 June and 11 July in 2017 to celebrate collaborations and share new ideas with representatives from various corporate partners, funds and organizations with a similar outlook on youth.

Every signature piece was inspired by the rich traditions of Chinese history and culture, and was something for both connoisseurs and art lovers alike.

The proceeds support the Federation’s WL Residence in Sheung Wan which helps 18-24 year-olds struggling with family problems and those whose lives are in transition. It gives them an affordable, temporary home and guidance in life.

The Federation was privileged to have Dr. Ko Wing-man, BBS, JP, Secretary for Food and Health and Mr. Chen Lin, Director General of Youth Department, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, as Guests of Honour. Nearly 1,000 guests from government, business, NGO and other sectors attended. Proceeds will support the HKFYG WL Residence in Sheung Wan. It helps 18-24 year-olds struggling with family problems and those whose lives are in transition, need an affordable, temporary home and are looking for guidance in life.

A charity showing of Helios, partnered by Media Asia Film Distribution (HK) Ltd, took place on 28 April 2015 at The Metroplex, Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. The Federation was privileged to have The Hon. Dr. Elsie Leung Oi-sie, GBM, JP, Deputy Director, HKSAR Basic Law Committee of Standing Committee of National People’s Congress, The Hon. Dr. Leong Che-hung, GBM, GBS, JP and Ms. Susie Ho Shuk-yee, JP, HKSARG, Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Communications and Technology) as Guests of Honour. Proceeds were used to assist current services for disadvantaged young people in the community.
